Happy New Year for 2026

I am wishing everyone a Happy New Year for 2026. I wish that the new year brings you peace, good health, and good fortune.

This upcoming year will be another one where I balance my career with my sideline. I’ve definitely noticed that since hitting my mid-50s I don’t have the energy I once did and working on the sideline projects has been much slower. This has forced me to re-evaluate my priorities and I have begun a review of my projects including honestly reviewing where I am putting my energy.

In summary:

• Heropath – No changes for 2026. I remain stuck in redesign and reimagining with a less ambitious project called Mythway being shifted to. It sure is hard to make games!
• FanSeeStats – No changes for 2026. Work is carrying on and there is an update coming in the next few weeks.
• Website Failures – I have experienced a number of website failures due to server updates. Urbaniacs.com and FantasyInspiration.com are two that have been maintained and generated some traffic and revenue and they have now stopped working. It is disappointing but it is what happens with technology and software advancement. The old software needs be modified to work with the new security protocols and if you don’t have a dedicated budget for it, they will fail.
• Nerdism in Winnipeg – The raw writing about game development in Winnipeg. I completed my ambitious timeline post and have accomplished another interview. I will continue to work at this in 2026.

As I’ve said previous New Year Days, I remain thankful for the privilege to pursue these projects and wish that everyone could have the same opportunity.
